Nick Cordero who had his leg amputated because of covid – 19 woke up from a coma
Nick Cordero is known for American TV roles, such as Law & Order and Blue Bloods. In addition, the actor also starred in several roles on Broadway. On stage, his main works are the musicals The Toxic Avenger, Rock of Ages and Bullets Over Broadway, which was written by Woody Allen. Because of his performance on Bullets Over Broadway, Nick was nominated for the “Tony Award”, competing in the category of the best musical actor.
In late April, actor Nick Cordero, 41, was put into an induced coma after having his leg amputated because of COVID – 19. However, recently, his wife, Amanda Kloots, appeared on Instagram to give good news about her husband’s health.
Since March, the actor was already admitted to a hospital in Los Angeles, in the United States. That way, he was soon intubated, and because of more severe lung damage, Nick needed cardiac support and hemodialysis. On social media, Amanda showed up to give the good news with her son on her lap and said that her husband finally woke up.

As part of a campaign to help her husband’s recovery, Amanda uploaded a hashtag (#WakeUpNick, “#AcordaNick”, in free translation) on social media for Nick to wake up. “Guys, we need to change our hashtag for nick campaign because Nick is awake. He woke up. I asked the doctors if I could tell. They just said that Nick is too weak for now. Opening your eyes, closing your eyes, it ends up with all his energy, but he is awake “, she said, while holding her son in her lap. Nick and Amanda are parents of Elvis, only ten months old.
Even with a significant improvement, the actor’s state of health is still very delicate. In April, the actor’s right leg was amputated because of COVID – 19 and complications caused during the treatment of the disease. Thus, he is still weak and cannot close his mouth, but he is already following the doctors’ commands. “What we know, Nick is awake! He’s extremely weak, to the point where he can’t close his mouth, but he’s following orders, which means that mental status is coming back! This is a long, very long journey. But we’re on the way, “said Amanda.

In early May, the actor also underwent a tracheostomy, a procedure that is usually done to expedite the entrance of air into the lungs. However, shortly afterwards, new complications emerged. According to Amanda, her husband’s oxygen level had plummeted. After that, he went on to have difficult nights at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, where he is hospitalized after contracting the new coronavirus. “Hey, guys, a quick update on Nick. He had a little rough night. His oxygen levels reached down, but doctors got him back right away,” said Amanda in her Instagram Stories.
